Shirley Williams Cook

Funeral services for Shirley Williams Cook, 85, will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Keithville, 6295 Williams Rd., Keithville, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Mike Stowell and Robert Cole. Larry Alton and J.W. Randall will be assisting with the music.

Shirley was born on February 4, 1938 in Keithville, Louisiana to Vardaman and Lenora Williams and passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Shirley was a hard worker all her life. She was raised on a dairy farm and had livestock all her life. She also worked for the telephone company and drove a school bus for many years. She then finished her career with General Motors. She loved her Jesus and First Baptist Church of Keithville and the Joy Sunday School Class.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vardaman, Jr., Cecil and Tommy Williams; and great-grandson, Logan. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 66 years, Louis A. Cook; children, Joan Cole (Robert), Suzan Harrison (Dean), and Buddy Cook (Debbie); nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

Honoring Shirley as pallbearers will be Zach and Trent Harrison, Josh and Jon Cole, Alex Cook and Will Bishnow.
