Homer/Lisbon, LA: Funeral services will be held for Sidney C. Killgore, 80, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, 20048 Hwy. LA 2, Lisbon, LA on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Terry Willis and Rev. R.B. Moore. Interment will follow at the Lisbon Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Mr. Killgore was born March 1, 1934 in Lisbon to Sidney Curtis and Annie Bell Owen Killgore. He entered into rest Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the family farm in Lisbon. Mr. Killgore was a graduate of Lisbon High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball and was a graduate from Louisiana Tech. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired manager of Hinton Well Service in Lisbon with over 20 years of service.
Mr. Killgore was preceded in death by his parents and also one son, Sidney Scott Killgore.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Marilyn Kimbell Killgore; daughter, Suzanne Killgore Williams and husband, Jimmy of Sibley; son, Grant Killgore and wife, Charlene of Homer; sister, Amanda Killgore Patton of Lisbon; brother, Bruce Killgore and wife, Diane of Lisbon; 5 grandchildren, Christin Robinson and husband, Thomas, Jennifer Meitner, Jay Williams and wife, Lizzy, Zach Killgore and Shea Killgore; 4 great-grandchildren, Braeden Robinson, Sydney Robinson, Gemi Robinson and Kaleigh Meitner; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Zach Killgore, Jay Williams, Thomas Robinson, Allen Killgore, Owen Killgore, Scott Malsam, Lee Patton and Bylon Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Burns, Arby Williams, Sammy Ware, Bill Copeland and Ben Malsam.
