Staff Sergeant Roy Glenn Loftin

Graveside services for Staff Sergeant Roy Glenn Loftin, Ret., 67, will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at NWLA Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana prior to the graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Roy was born on June 19, 1953 in Rayville, Louisiana to XL Dollar and Willie Lee Loftin and passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Roy served 12 years in the United States Airforce. He served in Egypt, Alaska, North Carolina, and New Mexico also participated in the landing of the multiple space shuttles. Roy was a longtime resident of Keithville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Will L. Loftin, Hubert Lavelle Loftin, Jerald Wayne Loftin and Kenneth Paul Loftin and sisters, Melba Lorraine Loftin Skipper and Marilyn Janelle Loftin McCrary. He is survived by children, Michael Loftin, Pamela Jean Loftin Averitt and Cody Braddock; god grandson, Dekota Braddock; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Joseph Loftin; two sisters, Betty Jean Loftin Beatty and Carolyn Lynette Loftin Taylor; special nephew, Jeff Loftin and numerous other nephews and nieces. The family would like to express special thanks to Overton Brooks VA Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Roy over the years.
