Stanley Edwards

Mr. Stanley Edwards passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, with his loving family by his side. A simple gathering of loved ones and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Tulip Cemetery, in Athens, Louisiana.

Stanley Edwards was born on December 10, 1953, in Athens, Louisiana to Clarence and Josie Owens Edwards. Stanley worked in the oilfield, was a school board member for Claiborne Parish schools, and worked at the Country Cottage along side his brother Mike. He loved basketball, enjoyed yard work, and really liked to play poker with his friends, and shoot crap at the casino when he was still able to. Stanley’s greatest love in life was raising his children and grandchildren and being around his family. He was a beloved member of the Athens and Arcadia communities and will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.

Preceding Stanley in death are his parents, Clarence and Josie Edwards, wife Sheila Edwards, and brother Mike Edwards.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Matthew Edwards and wife Ashley; daughters, Deborah Lee and Christina Warren; grandchildren, Cannon, Clayton, and Abby Gail; great grandson, Kyler; sister, Patricia Hollenshead; and by numerous other loving family and friends.
