Shreveport, LA - Stella Johnson age 83, passed away due to a lengthy illness on June 15, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mrs. Johnson was born to Henry and Emma Vosburg on November 23, 1936 in New Iberia, Louisiana. After graduating from Mansfield High School she got married and was a homemaker for many years. She later joined the staff at Southwood High School in 1970, the year they opened. She worked there for over 30 years and her health is what forced her to retire. One of her greatest joy's while working at Southwood High School was watching her son and grandsons graduate from there. Over the years, Mrs. J. became close to a lot of students and their families, she called them "her adopted children". She assisted with the Silver Spurs Dance Line and the Cheerleaders. She would never miss a sporting event, dance or beauty pageant for her adopted children. She would often bake brownies and bring in cakes for staff and students. Working at Southwood High School was very fulfilling and kept her spirit young at heart. But her true love was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Daniel Johnson and wife Teresa; three grandchildren, Paul Michael Johnson and wife Rebecca, Adam Matthew Johnson and wife Holly, Chelsea Marie Brocato; and 8 great-grandchildren.
