SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Stephen Stribling Baker will be held at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, 405 S. Washington St., Mansfield, LA on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Prude Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Michael Millard and Father Jaime Flowers. After graveside services the family opens to all friends, visitation and reminiscing at the ancestral Stribling family home to celebrate Steve's life.

Steve was born September 18, 1942 to Milton and Dell Baker and died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 15, 2014. Preceding him in death was his father Milton Baker. He is survived by his mother, Dell Baker; his best friend and loving wife of 49 ½ years, Sue Baker; daughter Ashley Baker Gay and husband, Scott; brother Robert Baker and wife, Jane; sister, Becky Conleay and husband, Ron; granddaughters, Brooke Holmes and Paige Holmes McMurry and a host of nephews and nieces.

Special friends assisting with burial are, Bo Smithwick, Martin Poole, Brian Walker, Steve Sloan, Ike Laffitte, Calvin Murray, James Grice, Rex Tamplin, Barry Rambin and Clarence Johnson.

Steve was dedicated to his family and his family heritage. Like his forefathers, Steve set strong roots in the land that has been in his family for generations.

The family will always be grateful to Dr.s Sally Ball, Ralph Baucum, III and Anil Veluvolu.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in Steve's honor to Multiple Myeloma Foundation or American Heart Association.
