Stephen Eugene Muslow

SHREVEPORT, LA - A Memorial Service for Stephen Eugene Muslow, 67, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at B'nai Zion Congregation, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti. Following the service the family will receive friends during a reception at the Temple. Born on July 30, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Janice Selber and Marvin Lester Muslow and died on Monday, September 11, 2017, surrounded by those who loved him. Steve lived all of his 67 years to the fullest. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in forestry, he poured his love for the industry into the business he founded and operated for 40 years, Muslow Forestry. Steve's passion for the timber business was passed down to his sons, who still are involved today. Steve was a past president of the Louisiana Forestry Association and a past president of the B\'nai Zion Congregation, both of which he served with pride and zeal. The only thing that made him happier than being in the great outdoors was spending time with his family and friends. Steve never met a stranger and was never one to sit on the sidelines. His fervent love and joyfulness for life touched every person he knew. He will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, loyalty, charisma, and unfaltering love for his wife and family. Steve was predeceased by his parents whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary, his sons Jason (wife Christina) and Matt (wife Katie), and daughter Mary Katherine (husband Logan). He is also survived by his brothers Richard (wife Rita) and Daryl (wife Mary) and his grandchildren whom he adored. The family would like to thank Dr. Ike and Berte Muslow for their care, love and support. The family is also grateful to Dr. Gazi Zibari and his staff, along with the critical care doctors and nurses at Willis-Knighton, who provided Steve with compassionate care during his final days.
