KIMBLETOWN COMMUNITY, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Steve V. Wilson, 65, at Sharon Baptist Church in the Kimbletown Community on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Jennings and Rev. Caroll Holmes, officiating. Interment followed in Sharon Cemetery. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street in Homer, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 4-6 p.m.
Mr. Wilson was born November 16, 1950 in Homer, LA to Sarah Lorell Revels and Samuel Daulton Wilson, Sr. He entered into rest on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his home. Mr. Wilson graduated in 1968 from Lisbon High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree for engineering from LA Tech in 1972. Mr. Wilson was a business owner, builder and farmer.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and brother, S. D. Wilson, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Christi Gibbs Wilson; two sons and a daughter, Bradley and Tosha Wilson of Kimbletown, Scott and Shelly Wilson of Albany, LA, and Kate and Paul Halaszyn of Kimbletown; three sisters, Doyce Houck, Christine Lazenby and Geraldine Rupert; seven grandsons, Daulton, Joseph, Caleb, Joshua, Andrew, Seth Wilson and Stefan Halaszyn; two step grandsons, Trey and James Porter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jeff Lazenby, Nathan Wilson, Ryan Hord, Scotty Young, Chris Moore and John Paul Jenkins.
