Sue Williams Amburn

aka Granny       aka Honey

Honey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at her home just as she wished. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent some time working outside her home in both bookkeeping and sales until she turned her focus to spending time with her grandchildren laughing and enjoying delicious home cooked meals. Oh, those biscuits… She was happy to share her recipes “accidentally” omitting a key ingredient leaving you wondering why your dish never tasted quite as good as hers.

She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Gerald; parents, Myrtle Jeoffroy and Will Williams; sister, Jean Bryant; brothers, Bill and Walter Williams; and grandson, Tony Compas. She is survived by her children, Terry Amburn and wife Janet, Carolyn Swank and husband Rick, Sandy Burford and husband Richie, and Barbara Graves and husband Tony; eight grandchildren, Kelli, Kathy, Troy, Tracy, Emily, Jessica, Richard, and Ryan; along with several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Honoring their grandmother as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Honey wanted to be sure her recent caretakers Lillie Shaw, Ella Feaster, Marcy Picard, and Felicia Taylor knew how much she loved and appreciated them.

In Honey’s final days she has been singing “Precious Memories” reminding us all we definitely have precious memories shared with her.
