Sue Davis was born on February 25, 1939 in Coushatta, LA to Mable Lee Silvie and Lonnie Eli Giddings, and passed away June 26, 2018 in Coushatta. Sue, lovingly known as Mema to many, was a hard-working single mother that raised 6 children and a grandchild. Her family was her life, and to her last day she was still trying to feed them all. For many years she was known as "The Tupperware Lady," and she never met a stranger.
Sue was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Yettie Silvie; her parents and step-mother Myrtle Giddings; her brothers James and Howard Giddings; her sister, Maggie Jordan; her daughter, Brenda Pullig; and brothers-in-law Robert Wood and David Cloud. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenny and Roger Davis; her daughters Gayle Culver (husband Ernie), Nita Allen (husband Moochie), and Kim Davis; her brothers Rodney Burkett (wife Carolyn), Marvin Burkett (wife Peggy), Lonnie Giddings (wife Brenda), Johnny Giddings (wife Ginger), and special brother-in-law Jerry Jordan; her sisters, Sarah Scott (husband Bobby), Janice Brown (husband Gurvis), Wanda Baker (husband Brooks), Annie Wood, Sheila Sonnier (husband Brian), and sisters-in-law, Karen and Norma Giddings; her 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, Sue asked that donations be made to the Gingerbread House of Shreveport, LA; the Women's Resource Center of Natchitoches; the Shriner's Hospital; or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
