Susan E. Johnston

A celebration of life service for Susan Embrey Johnston, 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. David Greer. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA. Susan was born September 15, 1946, in Shreveport, LA to Dorothy McGee Embrey and Vaughan Embrey and went to be with her Lord and Savior October 2, 2017. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she and Mike were married. Susan worked for CenterPoint Energy and retired after 37 years of service. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Michael Johnston and son, Brent. Honoring Susan as pallbearers will be Mack Bankson, Rick Britt, Levi Dew, Patrick Funk, Charles Mayes, and Jimmy Reeves. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bob Booth and Patrick McWilliams. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Michael Moore and his staff at Willis-Knighton North Oncology Department for all their compassionate care.
