Susan "Sue" Schmitz Malmay

Susan “Sue” Schmitz Malmay was born on May 8, 1939 in McMinnville, Oregon to Paul and Ruth Jones. She passed away on January 27, 2025 in Keller, Texas.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Hunt and Haven Jones; and her husbands, Gary Schmitz and John W. Malmay. She is survived by her children, Nancy Edwards (Jerry), Jody Drew (Robert), Robert Schmitz (Sharon), and Wendy Bills (Brad); grandchildren, Amy Duke, Charlie Edwards, Allan Drew, Rachel Richardson, Emily Bills, Sophie Schmitz, Brooke Bills, Ryan Schmitz, and Anna Bills; great-grandchildren, Kason, Sidda, and Freya Edwards, Ty and Ava Duke, and baby girl Richardson coming in June. 

Sue loved Jesus, bird watching, gardening, and traveling around the world through her love of reading. She dedicated her younger years to raising her 4 children, and at the age of 49, she decided to further her education and become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent the last 12 years living in Keller, Texas near her son, Robert and his family.

The family will have a private graveside service to honor the life of our beloved Sue.
