Funeral services will be held for Syble Lorene Ethredge Brister (96) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Crider and Rev. Ed Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory in Minden. Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 1 p.m. until service time. Syble, a Dubberly resident, was born on April 30, 1918 to Charlie and Alma Ethredge and went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Syble, a Benton High School graduate, married Henry Hershal Brister in 1939 and was married to him until his death in 1987. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, grandson Noble Brister II; brothers Melvin, Curtis, and Johnny Ethredge; sister Julia Hagan; sisters-in-law Lee, Mildred and Betty Ethredge and brother-in-law Willard Hagan. She is survived by son Noble Brister (Claudette); daughters Yvonne Alexander (O.D.), Gwen Simolke (Gary) and Sharon Maynor (Alvin); brother Charlie Ethridge; sister-in-law Evelyn Ethredge. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. "Ms. Syble", as she was known at Town and Country Health and Rehab, accepted Jesus as her Savior at age eighteen and was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, Minden. Over the years she loved sharing His Word and singing His praises. A special thanks to the staff of Town and Country Health and Rehab, Minden for the excellent care given her. Pallbearers will be Eric Simolke, Chris Brister, Russell Hightower, Alvin Maynor, Gary Simolke, O.D. Alexander, and Matt Loy.
