Syble Beth Giddings Welch

Funeral services for Syble Beth Giddings Welch, 82, will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating will be Brother Mike Ford.

Syble was born on March 2, 1942, in Coushatta, Louisiana to Andrew Cleve and Mittie Cason Giddings and passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, in Katy, Texas. Syble was a resident of Coushatta. She graduated from Fairview Alpha High School. She was married to her husband, Stanley Welch, for 53 wonderful years. She loved gardening, hummingbirds and cooking. Syble was always going and doing!

Syble is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mittie Giddings; husband, Stanley Welch; brother, Doyle Giddings; brothers-in-law, Leroy Deen and Doug Lawson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia Welch Broussard and husband, Gerry, of Katy, Texas, Norman Welch of Shreveport, Louisiana, Richard Welch and wife, Michelle of Allen, Texas; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Garrett Broussard and Zachary Welch; sisters, Doris Lawson and Jean Deen; sister-in-law, Ouida Giddings; brothers, Andrew Giddings and wife, Patsy, and Red Giddings and wife, Lynette, all of Coushatta; and lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Honoring Syble as pallbearers will be Zachary Welch, Garrett Broussard, Byron Brown, J.P. Brown, Matthew Blanchard, and Steven Giddings. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Deen, Gregg Giddings, and Will Giddings.

The family would like to express special thanks to all the caregivers at Brookdale Shreveport, Cinco Ranch Alzheimer Center and Hospice for all the care, love and support given to Syble.

The family suggests memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in honor of Syble Welch and others suffering with this disease.

Syble will be greatly missed by her family but we will forever love and cherish her memory.
