Ted Gates

Funeral services for Ted Gates, 90, of Shreveport, will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive. Reverend Randy Johnson will be officiating. The burial will be at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ted, the son of Elbert and Eugenia Moreau Gates, was born January 27, 1931, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away May 14, 2021 at his home in Shreveport. Ted is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elbert Gene Gates, Clarence Glyn Gates; and his identical twin, Ed Gates. Left to cherish Ted's memory is his wife of 72 years, Norma Fae Gates; children, Linda Gates, Cynthia Farr and husband, Gary; Jerry Wayne Gates and wife, Sherri; grandchildren, Melissa Fae Linn, Christine Michotto and husband, Chris, Danny Mathews and wife, Annette, Dana Moore and husband, Mark, David Mathews, Kevin W. Gates and wife, Erin K., and Ryan Thomas Gates and wife, Kelly S.; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The Gates family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Passages Hospice for their impeccable care of Ted, Fae and the entire family and Rose-Neath Funeral Home for providing such care and respect for our family. The family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of their choice.
