Teresa Catherine Lamar

A private graveside service will be held for Teresa Catherine Lamar, 95. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Jeff Joyner.

Teresa was born on October 8, 1929, to August Nicholas Youngman and Rhoda Shackelford Youngman in Laredo, Texas, and passed away on April 20, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Teresa lived a life filled with love, artistry, and devotion to her family. A passionate artist, her talent was reflected in the beautiful works that adorned the homes of those she cherished most. Her artistic spirit was matched by her skills in the kitchen, where she created meals that brought loved ones together, leaving behind recipes filled with love and tradition.

As a dedicated homemaker, Teresa embraced the role with elegance and care, defining what it meant to be a true Southern lady. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love shaped the lives of those around her. On February 17, 1952, she married the love of her life, beginning a journey of shared dreams and enduring companionship.

Teresa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the cherished memories of her warmth, creativity, and generosity. She will forever be remembered with love and admiration, a beautiful soul who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Sandy Lamar; daughter, Darlene Ross; son, Jimmy Lamar; great-grandson, Coty Hatfield; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her grandchildren, Stacy Cooper and husband Robert, Shelley Cooley and husband, Jerome, and Scott Walker and wife, Sheryl; ten great-grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.

Honoring Teresa as pallbearers will be Hayden Cooper, Braedyn Walker, Brenick Webb, Brendyn Walker, Devoncie Dotson, and Cole Warren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cooper, Scott Walker, and Jerome Cooley.
