VIVIAN, LA- Memorial Services celebrating the life of Texie Ann Vascoe Cantley, age 87, will be held at noon on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA 71129. Officiating will be her grandson, Lane Langford and Dr. B.J. Maddox, Pastor of the church.
Texie was born in Blanchard, Louisiana on February 14, 1930 to David Vasco and Violet Rains Vascoe.
2 Timothy 4:7 Says \"I Have Fought The Good Fight, I Have Finished My Course, I Have Kept The Faith.\" On March 3, 2017, Texie finished her course on this earth and now lives forever in Heaven.
Texie was a loving wife and mother; this was her life\'s work. She loved fishing, camping and playing in the dirt. All of these hobbies she taught and passed on to her children.
Texie was preceded in death by \"The Love of Her Life\", her husband of 63 Years, Lamar.
She is survived by one son, Billy Cantley and wife Pam; daughters, Deborah Langford and husband David, Carol Cantley, Emily Cantley and Julie Berge; 10 Grandchildren, 16 great-children; one sister, Naomi (Dinky) Williams; her \"Other Son\" Curtis Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of North Caddo Medical Center in Vivian, LA for several years of caring for our Mama, to the staff, Nurses and CNAS of the Guest House in Shreveport, LA, for the quality care and "Love\" given our Mama and also to our case manager and caregivers from Aime Hospice Services of Shreveport, LA, for going beyond meeting all her needs. \"Mrs. Texie\" Loved you all!
