Thayer Dewayne Campbell

A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service for Thayer Dewayne Campbell, 70, will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Billy Russell.

Dewayne was born on August 22, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Thayer James and Lois Campbell and passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Dewayne was a resident of Keatchie, Louisiana and worked for Camus Electric Company for 37 years. But spent 43 years in the electrical industry before retiring from Camus. He was a member of the IBEW Local 194 and the National Electrical Brotherhood. His hobbies were amateur radios and repairing any electronics he could get his hands on. He loved to help and teach anyone who wanted to learn. His favorite down time was playing with his 3 dogs. He felt his greatest accomplishment was being able to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his longtime best friend and love of his life for 36½ years, Su-Lin Campbell. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Dewayne had many friends and co-workers who gave him the nickname of “Shorty.” His family would like to retire his call sign KE5LXE in his loving memory.

Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents, Thayer James and Lois Campbell; and grandparents, EP and Mirtice Brown. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Su-Lin Campbell; daughter, Stephanie Dykes and husband, Robby; son, Thayer Campbell; grandchildren, Samantha, Shelby, and Matthew Dykes; Seth, Camden, Bailey, and Gaitlin; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Amslee, BriLynn, and Kaden; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle, Evelyn and Truman Brown, and Doris Ware

The family would like to thank Dr. Abdehou and his staff for taking care of Dewayne over the years.
