Theresa Britt Rutherford

Theresa Britt Rutherford was born on February 12, 1945, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Solomon and Jenny Britt. She went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2023.

A visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a celebration of life service to follow at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. The family welcomes all guests to a reception following the service located at Loyal Order of Moose, 9113 Industrial Rd, Shreveport, LA 71129.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Tim; her sons, Eric Dyess and wife Donna, and Britt Dyess and wife Lisa; stepchildren, Scott, Shawn and wife Florence, and Robert Rutherford, and Laurel Ratburn and husband Richard; brothers, Perry Britt and wife Jeanie, and Raleigh Britt and wife Shannon; sister, Brenda Britt; father and mother in law, Robert and Mary Rutherford; brother and sister in laws, John and Mary Skoglund, Jane and Mike Alsgaard, Thomas and Cindy Rutherford, Ann Huntington, George and Linda Rutherford, Tom Stark, Mary Rutherford, and Alice and Sean Overgaard; grandsons, Briggs, Branson, Devan, and Dalston Dyess; along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Jenny Britt; brothers, Dallas, Ollie, Muriel, and Elmer Britt; sisters, Cindy and Shirley Britt and Margaret Stark; stepbrothers, Kim Huntington and Matthew Rutherford; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Monica for the love and compassion shown to Theresa.
