SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral Services for Thomas Anderson Agee, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Betsy Eaves. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the church.
Tom was born February 20, 1943 in Little Rock, AR to Margaret Katherine Olyphant Agee and Frank Lawrence Agee and passed away in Shreveport on April 29, 2017. Tom was the President/Co-Owner of Local CPA Firm, Agee & Agee, P.C., Shreveport, LA; formally Vice-President/Information Systems and Gas Accounting Officer with Arkla Pipe Line Group, Shreveport, LA, Vice-President and Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Internal Auditor with Arkla, Inc.; B.S. Accounting, University of Arkansas, Little Rock, AR, 1967 ~ Certified Public Accountant ~ Certified International Auditor, Certified Valuation Analysts with Education and Certifications; IIA Distinguished Faculty ~ Former adjunct Faculty to LSU School of Internal Audit ~ Past Chairman of the Board of the Louisiana Association for the Blind ~ Past President of the Ark-La-Tex Chapter of the IIA ~ IIA Outstanding Contributor Award, 1988 with the Honor and Awards; Professional Affiliations: Institute of Internal Auditors, Past Region and District Director and Ark-La-Tex Chapter President ~ American Institute of CPAs and Louisiana Society of CPAs ~ Council of Petroleum Accounting Society, American Gas Association, Past Chairman Internal Audit Committee and Member of AGA information Systems Committee. Tom became a member of the South Shreveport Rotary Club in 1995, Rotary District 6190; he held several club offices, District Governor from 2009-2010. He was a multiple Paul Harris fellow (Major Donor Level 1), and made his children and grandchildren Paul Harris fellows, and helped others receive Paul Harris fellows.
He started a clean water project for schools and orphanages in Swaziland, and Disaster Aid USA Board Member an International and Domestic Disaster Relief Charity, and helped start the Domestic Disaster Program.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman and cherished his time with family and friends at the deer camp. He was always the first to help people in need, if you were lucky enough to be his friend or family you knew Tom would always be there if needed. He never wanted recognition for his help, it was just the right thing to do.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 years Gail A. Agee; sons, Thomas A. Agee II, Kenneth "Larry" Agee, and Anthony "Tony" A. Agee; daughter, Andrea K. Agee; grandchildren, Thomas Agee III, Emily A. Agee, Sarah A. Agee, Taylor N. Agee, Adam Agee, and Vanessa Agee; and brother, Frank L. Agee.
