Tommy was born on May 8, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jarrell Wilson Barber and Martha Clarise Carson Barber and passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Keithville, Louisiana. Tommy was a resident of Keithville. He was a very talented wood craftsman. He had a passion for St. Jude's and made a large dollhouse for the children of St. Jude's. He worked for many years with his pastor, Randy Johnson in construction for the disabled. He attended Fair Park High School. He was a very loving and devoted husband to Carolyn. His grandchildren changed his life into a role he was most proud of, "papaw." Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Garner; and wife, Carolyn Barber. He is survived by his son, Bobby Barber and wife, Jennifer Barber and their four children, Brianna, Lucas, Olivia and Noah; nieces, Patsy Sirman, Karen Dean; nephew, Chuck Cobb; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Honoring Tommy as pallbearers will be Pete Hawthorne, Chuckie Hawthorne, Jessie Streetman, Butch Canada, Bobby Smith, Ronnie Bass and James Churchman. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. V at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center. Also special thanks goes to Pete Hawthorne for being a true and loyal friend and Sheridan Desoto and Brenda Nielson for always being there for Tommy. Also, special thanks to Brother Randy Johnson who was more than Tommy's pastor. He was a true and loyal friend for many years to Tommy. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee that was near and dear to Tommy's heart.
