Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Thomas was born May 7, 1938 in Waldo, AR to Harry Edward and Mary Helen Wallis and died February 2, 2016 in Bossier City. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired Field Representative for IBM. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Since the passing of his wife of almost 50 years, in 2010, he fought through intense loneliness, numerous surgeries, and many medical obstacles, especially enduring dialysis treatments three days a week. Tom always had a special place in his heart for young children and was quick to donate to numerous agencies that help children both here and abroad. He was ecstatic to hear the news that he would be a \"great grandpaw\", and was quick to tell all the employees at the war veterans home where he spent his last six months of life. After a determined and heroic fight with the rigors of renal failure, he slipped peacefully into his eternal home on Tuesday evening and is now reunited with the love of his life to spend eternity.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rachel Snyder Wallis and a brother, Richard Wallis.
Thomas is survived by sons, Timothy Wallis and wife, Lisa of Benton, LA, Greg Fay and wife, Cheryl of Kansas City, MO and Mike Fay of Bossier City, LA; brother, Phillip Wallis and wife, Reba of Casselberry, FL; grandchildren, Travis Wallis and wife, Andrea, Lauren Wallis and boyfriend, Paul Boyle, Paul Fay and wife, Alicia, Bethany Fay and fiancé, Alan Grell and great granddaughter, Charlotte Wallis.
