Memorial services for Timothy Allen Matthews will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2PM at

Lakeview Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana, with Reverend Jeffrey Joyner

officiating. Visitation begins at 1PM.

Tim was born October 31, 1957, in Minden, Louisiana, and entered into rest March

27, 2025, at The Columns of Germantown in Minden, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Doris Helen Matthews.

Tim is survived by his son, Aaron Matthews of Shreveport; partner, David Vandemark of Dallas; sister, Diane Matthews Spurlock of Bossier City; nephew, Judd Spurlock (Sarah) of Porter, Texas; niece, Whitney Gaines (Tony) of Haughton; great nephews and great nieces, Hugh Spurlock, Tatum Rodgers, Henry Spurlock, Hattie Spurlock, and AvaTess Rodgers; and a host of first cousins and other Family.

Tim was a 1975 graduate of MHS. After attending Louisiana Tech, he moved to Dallas and worked as a hairdresser. He worked at Pacific Bell in San Francisco, adopted his son, Aaron, and moved back to Dallas where he owned and operated Scalini’s Pizza & Pasta for 10 years. Upon selling the restaurant, Tim began serving as a paraprofessional at Aaron’s school, Notre Dame School of Dallas. After Aaron graduated, Tim served as a school bus driver for the special needs population in Highland Park ISD and Dallas ISD and continued to work with Special Olympics and tirelessly serve the special needs population. He was an active member of the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas. He retired in 2021, moved to Bossier City and then The Columns of Germantown.
