Tom D. Madden Sr. of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 90 years of age from complications associated with Lewy Body Disease. He was born June 5, 1927, in East Point, Louisiana. He was a devoted Christian, Husband, Daddy and "Papa."
Known to his friends as Doug, he was a veteran of the Korean War and founded Madden's Glass Service, Inc. in 1957. Ordained as a deacon, Doug formerly served Queensborough and Willow Point Baptist Churches and attended Summer Grove Baptist Church at the time of his passing. He was a past president of the West Shreveport Rotary Club, a private pilot and enjoyed raising livestock in years past.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 at the pavilion of the North Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, Louisiana with Dr. Cliff Estes and Dr. Wayne Dubose officiating.
Doug is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Carter Madden; daughter, Dr. Sherri M. Beck and husband Steve; son, Tom D. Madden, Jr. and wife Ellen; grandson, Steven C. Beck and wife Amy; granddaughters, Sarah K. Monchak and husband Adam, Elizabeth M. Hancock and husband Richard and ten great-grandchildren.
Honoring "Papa" as pallbearers will be son-in-law James S. Beck, grandson Steven C. Beck, grandson-in-law Richard Hancock, family friends Samuel J. Stroope, William J. Ingram and Jim W. VanGossen.
