Funeral services will be held for Tom Henry Ruple, 82, at the Ruple Baptist Church, on Sunday, December 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Gill, officiating. Interment will follow at Ruple Cemetery in the Ruple community near Haynesville, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th Street in Homer, LA, on Saturday, December 27, from 5-7 p.m. Mr. Ruple was born on February 19, 1932, to John Chris and Henrietta Stassen Ruple in Homer, LA. He entered into rest Friday, December 26, 2014, at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA, following a lengthy illness. Throughout his life, Mr. Ruple worked as a mechanic at the Pearson Motors Dealership and eventually retired from Ludlow Packaging Division in Homer after 23 years of service. After retiring, he continued to working other jobs such as Wade Correctional Facility and then the State of Louisiana in the agricultural department, as well as, driving a log truck. He was a musician and played the drums for North Louisiana Hay Ride and also a singer in a group called "First Praise." Mr. Ruple was preceded in death by his parents; two brother, Eugene Ruple and Byron "Bud" Ruple; and a sister, Maggie Sanders. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy McDowell Ruple; two sons, Ben Ruple and wife Gerri of Dublin, GA, and Thomas Micheal Ruple and wife, Jana of Haynesville, LA; a brother, J. C. Ruple and wife, Martha of Homer, LA; two sisters, Bobbie Ruple and Josephine Miller, both of Haynesville, LA; five grandchildren, Zachary Ruple, Alex Ruple, Bethanie Loyd and husband, Kasey, Michal Ruple and Lindsey Ruple; one great granddaughter, Clara Beth Loyd; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Ben Ruple, Thomas Ruple, Zachary Ruple, Alex Ruple, George Sanders, Jr., David Sanders, Jerry McDowell and Kasey Loyd.
