Tommie Camille Lombardino, 90
Tommie Camille Lombardino, age 90 of Minden passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016. She was born at home in Dubberly to the late Ernest and Annie Connell on December 1, 1925. Tommie was a graduate of Dubberly High School.
Tommie married Anthony (Johnny) Lombardino on June 22, 1946 where she worked with him at their J's Auto Repair Shop in Minden for 20 years and then as a deputy for the Webster Parish Marshal's Office where her husband Johnny was the Webster Parish Marshal. Tommie and Johnny were happily married for 58 years. Following his death in 2005 Tommie soon moved to Spring, Texas to be close to her daughter Penny Lombardino George, granddaughter Candice Angelique Faulk, and great-grandson Fisher Paul Faulk.
Family, friends, pets, books and nature were Tommie's love and joy. She grew up spending time with her siblings and cousins in Dubberly and would always rather be outdoors in the open country rather than indoors. Tommie traveled many places throughout her life and as age made traveling more difficult she immersed herself in the books she loved to read and the places they would take her. Rarely would you see Tommie without a smile or welcoming visitors into her home. She was tough as they get physically, but the sweetest most kindhearted person you could ever meet.
Tommie is survived by her daughter and husband Penny Lombardino George and Michael; granddaughter and husband Candice Angelique Faulk and Garland; great-grandson, Fisher Paul Faulk; and half-brother, Patrick Connell. She also leaves behind a lot of caring relatives and longtime friends like Jimmy and Agnes Heflin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley and Ernestine; and husband Anthony (Johnny) Lombardino.
Tommie will have a private direct burial service Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubberly with her family and a few close friends. Officiating the service is her nephew, Pastor Charlie Lombardino of Cold Springs, Texas. The family wishes to thank the Hospice organization for their kind dignified caring during Tommie's final hours. Donations can be made to the Vitas Hospice organization.
