SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Tommie G. Macy, 85, will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Officiating will be Roy Strother. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Tommie was born in Howe, TX on December 16, 1930 to Thomas Stewart and Opal Blythe Stewart Anderson. She passed away after a lengthy illness on Mother's Day, May 8, 2016. Tommie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed being with family and friends above all else. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, bowling with the great friends on her bowling league, and cooking for her family. But her greatest joy was being with all of her children and grandchildren, playing cards and telling stories about the family. She was a beautiful person who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all, but especially by her grandchildren who absolutely adored their Granny. Tommie was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Ernest Anderson, her sister, Billie Padilla nephews, Buzzy Padilla and Richard Padilla and brother-in-law, Arthur Padilla. She leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Ralph L. Macy, Sr.; sons, Ralph Macy, Jr., and wife, Kim, Calvin Macy and wife, Glenna; daughters, Devora Adams and husband, Gregory, and Sandy Kimmell; grandchildren, Melissa Smith and husband, Allan, Meredith Hunter and husband, Kevin, John Macy and wife, Amanda, Candi Fisher and husband, Mike, Bert Adams, Michael Butler, Tom Macy, Dustin Butler, Macy Butler, Slater Thompson, and Sarah Thompson; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Terry Jones and husband, Jim; sister-in-law Marie George and husband, Lonnie; also left are Debby Macy, Allen Kimmell, and Mike Butler. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, especially Jamie, Mary and Charlotte, and Dr. Diana Lim for their care and compassion.
