Tommie Lynn Maroon

Tommie Lynn Maroon, 67, of Benton, Louisiana passed away at his residence on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Benton, Louisiana. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Father Karl Daigle will officiate the service. Tommie was born on July 18, 1953 in Newellton, Louisiana to Loyce and Helen Maroon. Tommie was married to Kristi Dzieiski and they had a son Cody and a stepson J.C. Kelly. Tommie was a lover of all animals but especially loved his horses. He was a true cowboy and a horseman by trade. Naturally, as an animal lover, Tommie was kind and nurturing. He always knew what to say and the right time. He was always there for his family. He made Kristi feel safe and his children supported in their endeavors. He was a quiet and thoughtful man, but still loved a good joke. To know him was to love him. Tommie is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Secrest Maroon; father, Loyce Maroon and his sister-in-law, Sandy Maroon. He is survived by his wife, Kristi; son, Cody and wife, Danielle and their son, Austin Maroon; stepson, J.C. Kelly and his children, Alex and Jordyn Kelly and their mother, Laura Kelly; brothers, Gene "Buster" Maroon and Loyce Jr. and wife, Donna; sisters-in-law, Dorsey Thibodeaux and family, Lisa Olson and family, Joy Newton and son, Jason, and Lenora Hatfield and family.
