Tommie Jean Shofner

Funeral services for Tommie Jean Shofner, 94, will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath. Officiating the service will be Pastor John Harp assisted by Brother Luke Bissell.

Tommie was born on August 7, 1928 in Archibald, Louisiana to Thomas Washington Price and Elizabeth “Bettie” Sue Davis and passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Tommie was a resident of Shreveport and worked for Sears and W.L. Somner Co. for 30 years. She was a social butterfly and was always helping others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Tommie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Royce Shofner; sisters, Adena Price and Mary Sue Ard; and dear friend, Bill Giddings. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy Anderson and Peggy Shofner; bonus grandchildren, Jennifer Burson, Mary Lowery and Daphne Huber; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Tommie as pallbearers will be Eddy Gallaspy, Mickey Gilcrease and Luke Bissell.

The family would like give special thanks to all of Tommie’s full-time sitters for their wonderful care, love and compassion given to Tommie. They also want to thank Waterview Retirement Center, Garden Park Nursing Home and Brookdale for all their care in overseeing our mom’s final journey home.

The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Brookwood Baptist Church or Baptist Tabernacle.
