Tommy Lane Broughton

Tommy Lane Broughton, Age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018 with his loving wife Linda of 49 years by his side after a long courageous battle of cancer. Services celebrating Tommy's life will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 am at Countryside Baptist Church with Pastor Randall Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, White Lightning Road, Homer, LA. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5-8:00 pm at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Tommy was born September 12, 1949 in Shreveport, LA to the late Carlton and Kathryn Holly Broughton. Also preceding him in death, his special and loyal dog, Brewster. Tommy retired after 31 years with Western Electric (Lucent Technology) and was Owner-Operator of TL Trucking and Hot Shot Business. Throughout the years he loved hunting with his bird dogs, fishing, watching and participating in his son Kyle's baseball career, riding his Harley Davidson Road Glide and enjoying time spent with his friends at the Harley Davidson Shop in Bossier. Tommy was also a member of Countryside Baptist Church and formerly a member of the Four Wheel Drive Club. He grew up in Homer, LA graduating from Homer High School, and attended Northwestern State University where he met the love of his life, Linda. Tommy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Wells Broughton; his son, pride and joy, Kyle and wife Jamie Broughton of Benton, LA; sister, Shirley (Bobby) Potts of Shreveport, LA; brothers, Donny (Susie) Broughton of Rockwall, TX and Dennis (Sarah) Broughton of Keithville, LA. Also their new dog 'Little Man'. He is also survived by Linda's sisters, Glenda, Brenda and Phyllis; brothers, Danny, Jeff and Marty; and their families, a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members and many beloved friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Rainwater, Ray Fulco, Kyle Anderson, Ernie Austin, Randon Madisette, Jack Hicks, Paul Johnston and Curt Patterson. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Robert Nickelson and staff; the doctors and staff on 2^nd floor of Willis Knighton; the Wells family for all their love and support through the years; and Johnny Pioch for her help and support through this difficult time. Also special thanks for all the love and support from all his special riding buddies at the Harley Shop where he enjoyed visiting every morning.
