Tommy "TC" Michwich (Ret.)

Retired Shreveport Fire Captain Tommy C. Michwich (TC) of Shreveport was called home to be with his heavenly Father, Friday, May 19, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tommy was born on July 17, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Winifred Roy and Mattie Sparks Michwich. He was baptized in the Methodist Church at six months old, and recently reconfirmed and turned his life over to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tommy was a 1969 graduate of Woodlawn High School and grew up in the Cedar Grove Community.

Tommy joined the Fire Department in 1970 and retired in June 1998. He loved the camaraderie of his fellow brothers, and said he loved being a firefighter so much that he would have worked for free.

Tommy enjoyed reading history and science fiction books, watching old western movies, hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling. He loved making seafood gumbo or a pot of stew in preparation for watching his LSU Tigers or New Orleans Saints football games.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, baby Eloise, Dorothy McCoy, Bobbie Dennis, and Linda Ebarb. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rebecca; sister, LaVon Sell; many nieces and nephews; his fur babies, Jazz, Lucky and Beaux; faithful friend and caregiver, Debbie Dennington; many friends and his Fire Department family.
