SHREVEPORT, LA - Services celebrating the life of Troy Randall Rascoe, 68, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2015 at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Interment will be at the NW Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 25, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel.
Troy was born August 20, 1947 in Converse, LA and lived in Shreveport, LA for over 27 years, and most recently lived in Pagosa Springs, CO for the past 18 years. He passed away February 19, 2016.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971. He was stationed at Norton AFB in San Bernardino, CA as an Aircraft Technician on the C-141.
Troy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie Temple Rascoe. Daughter, Ginger Smith and husband John, of Pagosa Springs, CO. Son, Patrick Rascoe and wife April of St. Augustine, FL. His pride and joy were his five grandsons Hunter, Nathan and Johnathon Smith, Davis and Luke Rascoe.
Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Sammie Camille Sistrunk Myers. His father, Wallace Truitt Rascoe and Wanda Strong Rascoe. Uncles Carroll and Lamar Rascoe, aunt Nelwyn Davis. He was raised by his grandparents, Walter Lee and Mae Rascoe and grew up with his aunts and uncles who were like brothers and sisters. Buford Rascoe, Clara Hatcher, Betty Andrews, Thomas Rascoe, Douglas Rascoe, Delores McAllister and Jan Ryals. Brothers and sisters Sue Myers Wesson, Charles Myers, JoJo Myers, Tracy Myers Herrin and step brother Vince Rascoe.
He attended Louisiana College. He worked as a machinist at Riley Beard over 33 years. In 2013, he retired from Wyndham Resorts. Most of his time was spent travelling with Marie, climbing mountains, hunting and he was an amazing woodworker. He was a mission minded servant of the Lord, and strong man of God.
Pallbearers will be Richard Rascoe, Bill Andrews, Steve Roe, Billy Roe, Langston Myers and Tommy Bison.

CCCD- Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf in Jamaica. Troy spent a great deal of time constructing buildings for deaf children to have classrooms to learn about Jesus.
MAF-Mission Aviation Fellowship in Nampa, ID. Troy volunteered his time repairing airplanes so foreign missionaries had the supplies they needed to carry out Mark 16:15 "Go ye unto all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
