Trula Dean Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2023.

Trula was born in 1939 to Juanita and Howard Campbell. The family moved to Doyline, Louisiana in 1951 where she would meet the love of her life. She married Thomas Leroy Thompson in 1956. They went on to travel the world, share their love of Tennessee, and raise a large family. Trula was a dedicated worker and retired from Calumet. She was also a talented cook, baker, decorator, and florist but she was most proud of her family role. She was the mother of 5 children and “Mamaw” to 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She always made time for each and every one and was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones.

Trula was a strong woman of faith and devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Minden where she taught the Lydia Sunday school class for many years.

She is survived by her husband Leroy, children Patti, Dwayne, Tommy, Tim, and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Martin, sister Dorcas, sister-in-law Carol, grandchildren Tammy and Chad and beloved daughter- in- laws Colleen and Janet.

While she will be greatly missed by her family, we rest knowing she has been reunited with her Heavenly Father and loved ones. “We love you and are so proud of you.”

Services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Doug Gregg and Bro. Jim Crain officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
