A funeral mass for Truong Gia Nguyen, 60, will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saint John, 939 Jordan St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, and Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Priest blessing at 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana.
Truong Gia Nguyen, a beloved figure in the Shreveport community and co-owner of Johns Seafood, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. Born on October 3, 1964, Truong was known not only for his dedication to his work but also for his inviting spirit and carefree attitude.
As a co-owner of Johns Seafood, he worked alongside his siblings to create a cherished local establishment. Truong was truly a jack of all trades, showcasing his intelligence and adaptability across various roles within the business. His strong work ethic and passion for creating memorable experiences led to many lasting relationships with customers and friends alike. His infectious energy was palpable, drawing people to him and leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Truong was deeply loved by many. He possessed a generosity of spirit that was evident in his willingness to help others—often described as someone who would give the shirt off his back. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel welcome and valued, embodying a warmth that provided comfort to family and friends.
In addition to his admirable work ethic, Truong had a robust zest for life. He shared a passion for traveling, taking at least four to five trips each year, and embraced adventure with enthusiasm. He particularly enjoyed cruising and fishing, activities that brought him joy and relaxation amidst the hustle of daily life.
Truong's journey through life was marked by resilience and strength. He fought valiantly against his illness, embodying courage throughout his lengthy battle. His legacy is one defined by love, generosity, and a genuine connection with those around him.
He is remembered fondly by many in the community and will be dearly missed.
