Twyla Asberry Bartlett

Funeral services for Twyla Asberry Bartlett, 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Scott J. Teutsch.

Twyla was born on July 1, 1934 in Summerfield, Louisiana to Samuel Carroll Asberry and Myrtle Lee McCullar Asberry and passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She married the love of her life, Robert Bartlett, on May 29, 1952. She was a longtime member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Ruth Sunday School class taught by Mrs. JoAnn Wiley. She loved baseball and was a huge Houston Astros and Texas Rangers fan. She worked in the automobile insurance business most of her adult life, retiring at 80 years old.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Bartlett; son, Dennis Bartlett; daughter, Robin Bartlett; sister, Mary Fern Ray and brother, Bruce Asberry. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Denise Laenger and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Paige Franz, Austin Laenger, Zach Laenger and wife, Apple, Jennifer Merrell and husband, Matt and Chris Laenger and great-grandchildren, Felix Laenger and Leona Laenger along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Honoring Twyla as pallbearers will be Paige Franz, Austin Laenger, Zach Laenger, Chris Laenger, Matt Merrell and Danny Sartori.

The family would like to express special thanks and their sincere appreciation to Dr. Scott McRight, Dr. Jeffrey Holt and Dr. Philip Garavaglia and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
