Valda \"Val\" Kay Humphrey Johnson, 66, of Minden, La., passed away December 12, 2017, after a lengthy illness. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery.
Val was born on February 25, 1951, in Shreveport, LA, to Limmie and Theresa Humphrey. She was raised in Shreveport, and graduated from Fair Park High School in 1968. She loved God, her family, and always had an unsurpassed love for all animals.
Val is survived by son, Billy Johnson and wife, Harriet "Sissy"; daughter, Holly Johnson Gray and husband, Michael; son, Kevin Johnson and wife, Jennifer; sisters, Sherry Humphrey Taylor; Rhonda Humphrey Nichols and husband, Robert "Bobby"; grandchildren, Seth and Sarah Johnson; Monica Johnson Perkins and husband Matthew, and Bryan Gray; Zachary and Andy Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Val was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Johnson; her parents; brothers, Edward and Limmie \"Jr." Humphrey; William "Bill" and Walter Lacy; sisters, Joanne Humphrey Callicoatte and Patricia Humphrey White/Smith; and stepbrother, Clyde Cathey; and many Aunts and Uncles.
