Valerie Dowden Wells

FRIERSON, LA - Funeral services for Valerie Dowden Wells, 47, will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Rev. Mel Campbell of Frierson Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, November 10^th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Valerie was born September 19, 1969 in Shreveport, LA to Gerald Ray Dowden and Vellen Rose Roy Dowden and passed on November 7, 2016. She was a 1987 graduate of N. Desoto High School and a graduate from BPCC. Valerie's work as a paralegal was very important to her. She was also a part of the reality TV show, "Bayou Billionaires." Valerie was a proud and loving mother of two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Nikki, and her son, Devyn Metcalf, also a loving daughter and friend. She was well loved and will be missed always. Valerie was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Ruth Dowden, paternal grandparents, Tommy and Maura Dowden, and maternal grandmother, Jeanne Roy. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jessica Metcalf and Nikki Wells; son, Devyn Metcalf; husband, Robert Wells; her parents, Gerald and Kitten Dowden; brothers, Gerald Dowden, Jr. and wife, Peggy, and Thomas Dowden and wife, Mallory; her sister, Chantel Mynes; nieces, Ellie and Emery Dowden; maternal grandfather, Jim Roy; nephews, Ivan Mynes, Dalton Dowden, Donavan Dowden and John Marshall Clark; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and fans.
