Vanetta Marie Vanetta Marie Jones-Pate

A funeral service for Vanetta Marie Jones-Pate will be held on December 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Starlight Baptist Church in Marksville located at 3538 Hwy 1.

Vanetta Marie Jones-Pate, age 53, of Marksville, entered this life on September 10, 1970, to Reverend Laudrick Jones and Johnnie Mae Simon-Jones in Marksville, LA. She was baptized at an early aged at Starlight Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clifton Jones where she was a member for many years. She had two children: Clifford Pate III and Laudrick Lee Pate. 

Vanetta graduated from Marksville High School in 1988. She worked at Avoyelles Womens Correctional Center in Cottonport, LA as a security guard. 

Vanetta was preceded in death by her parents, Laudrick and Johnnie Mae Jones and one nephew, Van Jones Jr. 

She leaves to cherish her two children, Clifford Pate III of Porte Barre, and Laudrick Lee Pate of Marksville two brothers, Pastor Van Keith Jones, Sr (Martha) of Marksville, LA; Clay Kendell Jones of Marksville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Starlight Baptist Church beginning at 9:00 a.m. and lasting until time of service. Burial will follow at Starlight Baptist Church Cemetery.
