Velma Fincher Crofton Velma Fincher Crofton, 84, of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, joining the love of her life, her husband, Daniel J. Crofton, of nearly 60 years, and her body was made new by our Heavenly Father. Velma was a 1949 graduate of Fair Park High School and began her working life at South Central Bell, where she met and married Dan, and then became a homemaker. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Cleon and Ozella Fincher, and her brother, Raymond Fincher. Velma is survived by her brother, Gerald Fincher, her daughter, Connie Cox, son, Danny Crofton, two grandchildren, Justin Crofton of Shreveport and Loraleigh Phillips and her husband, James "Jay" Crawford Phillips II, and two beautiful great-grandchildren, James Crawford "Ford" Phillips III and Anna Crawford Phillips of Madison, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 12:00 o\'clock, at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA.
