Verda Mae Middleton

Verda Mae Jones Middleton, age 94, of Summerfield, LA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2024

Verda was born on June 13, 1929, to Marshall and Mary Borden Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Benjamin Franklin Middleton; her sons, Michael (Mickey) and Steven Middleton; her grandsons, Austin Brown and Logan Middleton; and by her siblings Cecil, Doyle, Dennis, and George Jones. 

Verda married B.F. Middleton on December 25, 1947. She was a faithful pastors wife and prayer warrior. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, babysitting, reading, crossword books, and cooking. Above all else, she loved going to church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She is survived by three sons; Bill Middleton and wife Diane of Calhoun, LA, Dale and Kathy Middleton of Calhoun, LA, and Paul Middleton of Amity, AR; her 10 grandchildren, Michael, Wendy, Marcia, Jarod Paul, Kelli, Lance, Brandi, Kristen, Casey, and Jaylyn; 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Beverly Jones and Estellene Childress (Aunt Dude); a very special niece Beth Jones, and by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends. 

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Homer. Bro. Olin Vaughn officiated. Burial followed at Summerfield Cemetery, in Summerfield, LA. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Middleton, J.P. Middleton, Lance Middleton, Casey Middleton, Gary Jones, Billy Jones, and Brad Vik.
