HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Vernon J. Krouse, 82, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Homer, LA, on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. R.B. Moore, officiating. Interment followed at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA, at 1:00 P.M. The family received friends at the church from 10-11 A.M. Mr. Krouse was born March 23, 1936, in Henderson, TX, to Louis B. and Florence D. Hutchinson Krouse. He entered into rest on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in Ruston, LA, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Krouse served his country in the National Guard. He worked in the oilfield for Placid as a plant operator. Throughout the years, Mr. Krouse worked for several printing companies in Natchitoches, Monroe and Homer's own Guardian Journal. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his child, Leilani Maddox Krouse; and sister, Betty Jones. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Goyne Krouse of Homer, LA; a son, Carroll Louis Krouse and wife Monique of Tyler, TX; two step-children, Cydni Hutson and Tommy Moore; a granddaughter, Caylee Krouse Morrow and husband Matthew of Tyler, TX; two step-grandchildren Reece Hutson and wife Bridget and Cyd Hutson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Joe Heckel, Ryan Harmon, Tommy Hutson, Reece Hutson and Norman Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were the Masons of Homer. In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Krouse, his family suggests Wesley Chapel or donor's choice.
