Vernon Rhodes

Funeral services celebrating the life of Vernon Ancel Rhodes, 92, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Southside Baptist Church, 7329 Hwy 509, Mansfield, Louisiana with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. 

Vernon was born on February 18, 1932, in Hardin County, Tennessee to James Daniel Rhodes and Veedie Ann Browder Rhodes and passed away October 19, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings; and first wife, Ja’net.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Joan Tinney Rhodes; son, Kenneth Rhodes; daughters, Cheryl Ross (Robert), Cynthia Rhodes, and Tracy Ford; sisters, Geneva Choates, and Mary Jane Barton; brothers, Charles Rhodes (Ruth), James Rhodes, and Jackie Rhodes; grandchildren, Daniel Ford (Jen), Jennifer Rhodes (Derek), Joseph Rhodes, Leah Gault, Lacey Ford, Rebecca Rhodes (Cam), Justin Ross, Amanda Rhodes, Patricia Heins (Cody), and Randall Rhodes (April); great grandchildren, Bryan, Levi, Callie Chay, Bellamy, Montgomery, Jordan, Wyatt, Jace, October, and Charlie.

Honoring Vernon as pallbearers will be Randy Rhodes, Justin Ross, Brandon Conway, Bryan Gault, Eric Moreno, and Mark Koenig.
