Veronica â??Roniâ?? Hayes Soderman

Services for Veronica "Roni" Hayes Soderman will be 10:00 am Friday, June 9, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Warren Cemetery in Fisher, Louisiana. Visitation will be 9 am Friday prior to the service. She was funny, loving, caring, mean, crazy- as in Alice in Wonderland, sweet, and beautiful that's ma - I love her. At Age 12, General Patton trained the troops in her back yard for Louisiana Maneuvers, her grandmother fed the men fried chicken. At Age 16, she lied about her age and got her first job, which lasted until she was 54, an Executive Account Manager in telephone communications. At Age 18, she married Alfred Soderman and she put him through law school. After careful planning, she had her only child, Van on November 26, 1954. Then in 1961, Alfred cheated on her and they ended their marriage leaving her a single working mom. She raised her son successfully and worked hard until retirement. She loved music, fine art, and literature and taught her son all these things. Her favorite authors were Ayn Rand, Hemmingway, and Victor Hugo to favorite music romance and opera. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Van Soderman and wife, Rose.
