A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Vincent Harold Sava, 84, will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Road, Benton, Louisiana. Burial to follow the service at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle.
Harold was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on November 7, 1938, to Joseph Anthony Sava and Pauline Wolk Sava, and he passed away on April 1, 2023, surrounded by his family. Harold was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a loyal friend to all those who knew him.
Harold was a 1957 graduate of Fair Park High School in Shreveport and attended Northwestern State University. He was a strong, intelligent man with an admirable work ethic, working as an accountant and as a branch manager for a local marine business. He was a wonderful father who made many sacrifices to see that his children had what they needed. He will be missed dearly by his family.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved waterskiing, and spending many summer weekends at the lake with his children. He also enjoyed watching baseball (especially the St. Louis Cardinals), working on his classic cars, and took great pride in having a well-manicured lawn. He was kind to children and often spent time visiting and assisting the elderly. Even though he was a quiet man, he was witty and had a great sense of humor.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dreama Sava; brothers, Joseph Sava, Paul Sava, Charles Sava, Bernard Sava, and David Sava; and sister, Theresa Sava Lintz. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lisa Edwards and husband, G.L., and Mary Edris Taylor and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Ashley Allen and husband, Brandon, Grant Edwards and wife, Megan, and Ben Edwards; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jacob and Chandler Allen, and Violet and Max Vincent Edwards; twin sister, Mary Sava; brothers, James Sava and Steve Sava and wife, Ceci; first wife and mother of his children, Lola Roton; sisters-in-law, Margie Garner, and Lois Crnkovic Foltz; niece, Lola Ann Bednarke; along with numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family.
Honoring Harold as pallbearers will be G. L. Edwards, Grant Edwards, Ben Edwards, Greg Taylor, Brandon Allen, and Jacob Allen.
The family would like to express our thanks to the staff of Cypress Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and LifePath Hospice Care Services for the kindness and compassion shown to Harold in his final days.
Harold will be forever in our hearts, loved and missed, until we are blessed to meet again.
“Best Daddy and Papa in the whole world.”
