A funeral service for Viola Ruemker, age 80, of Woodworth will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church in Woodworth. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until time of service on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. A rosary prayer service will begin at 10:30am.
Viola Ruemker, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
Mrs. Viola worked for 37 years at the Bellsouth Phone Company. She also was employed at BR Telco Federal Credit Union for 12 years. She is survived by 2 of her fur babies, which she adored, Max & Coco.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffery (Pam) Fitzgerald of Elmer, LA; daughters, Karen (Dennis) Kjar of Baton Rouge, Cherie (Bruce) Fitzgerald of Baton Rouge, Victoria Simmons of Dallas, TX., Nicole (Thomas) Harrison of Pineville, and Monique (Cash) Riley of Dallas, TX.; grandchildren: Teri (Randy) Defrene, Jr., Aaron (Ashley) Kjar, Ryan (Caryn) and Logan (Caitlin) Kjar, Cody (Sara) and Haley Fitzgerald, Wyatt Simmons, Canon, Carson, and Camryn Harrison, William and Madison Riley. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Hollis and Dutton Dufrene, Dalton Kjar, Jackson and Ava Fitzgerald.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ryan and Logan Kjar, Cody Fitzgerald, Jason Ruemker, William Riley and Canon Harrison.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Ruemker; and her parents, Archie & Viola Rougeau.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
