Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Virginia Teasley, age 100, at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Grandsons Pastor Matt Jensen and Jeff Ladd will officiate. The interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Virginia Bounds Teasley was born July 12, 1917 in Willow Springs, Missouri and entered into rest at her home in Bryceland on December, 16, 2017.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 81 years, Will Henry Teasley; her parents Rosetta and Paul Bounds; two sisters, Dorothy and Helen; and two brothers, Raymond and Glen.
She is survived by daughters Barbara Bookamer and Rosemary Jensen; son Billy Ray; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
During her childhood, Virginia lived in Willow Springs, Texarkana, and Shreveport. She met Will Henry at the State Fair in Shreveport in 1935 and they married on July 31, 1936. During their married life, they lived in Louisiana, Arizona, and California. They moved to Bryceland in 1963 and built a home. Virginia was postmaster at the Bryceland post office for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, travel, church work, and serving people in her community.
