Shreveport, LA - Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Evelyn Clark- Cox will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, with Rev. Tom Dugan officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the funeral home. She was born July 29, 1935 in Shreveport, LA and passed away at home on July 20, 2015 following a lengthy illness. In 1953 she graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and attended Louisiana Tech. She worked for the Caddo Parish School Board for many years before working in the insurance industry, where she retired from the City of Shreveport. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother; always putting the needs of loved ones before her own. She was very involved in society, as a member of Chapter 8443 of The Red Hat Society, being an advocate for Reach for Recovery, volunteering at both Highland and the VA, and she taught reading in a literacy program for both children and adults. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Maybelle Elliott and sister, Martha Bruce. Left to honor her memory is her husband Karl Adair Cox; children, Valerie Vernon Rogers, and husband, Bryan, Alison Vernon Hartley, Dewayne Cox and wife, Ann, Kevin Cox and wife, Jennifer, and Kelly Ward; grandchildren, Corey and Justin Ardwin, Peyton and Presley Ward, Spencer, Garrett, Duke, and Chloe Cox; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Lilith, and Katylynn Ardwin; sister, Jeanne Lloyd and husband, Sidney. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Bryan Rogers, Randy Gary, Russell Davenport, Ryan Cullick, Justin Ardwin, and Byram Carpenter. A special thanks to Grace Home for their love and care in her final days. Memorial donations may be made in Virginia's honor to the SPCA.
