Funeral services for Wallace “Pop” Jones, 80, will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Bedford Steele.

Pop was born on June 21, 1943 in Coaling, Alabama to Harold T. Jones and Fannie Mae Steele and passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

He was an avid dirt track racer, his passion was dirt track cars. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything, especially in his younger years. He was a true Alabama fan, Go Roll Tide.! He could outdrink any man in the coffee department and loved a good piece of pie. He was a calm and gentle natured man.  You never heard him raise his voice, although he could give you a look that would kill. Above all he loved his family. To know him was to love him and he will be truly missed.

The love of his life, Dorothy Jones, always kept him in line, as much as possible because he always knew that someone would hit the button on him and call her when he acted up.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years, Dorothy Jones; sister, E.J. Jones; brothers, Herbert Jones and sister-in-law, Myra Jones and Olan Glenn Jones. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Faith Weitzel and husband, Mikhael, Sr. of Huntsville, AL and Karen Wilson and husband, Daymon of Benton, LA; grandsons, Frank Wilson and wife, Amy of Benton, LA and Mikhael Weitzel, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; granddaughters, Kristin Tractenberg of Bossier City, LA, Hope Herrington and husband, Matt of Shreveport, LA, Freija Weitzel of Huntsville, AL and Aurora Weitzel of Bossier City, LA; great-grandsons, Jaxon Wilson and Dylan Wilson; great-granddaughter, Callie Weitzel of Bossier City, LA; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Holden of Huntsville, AL and Charlotte Johnson and husband, Bobby of Huntsville, AL; brother, John Michael Jones of Austin, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honoring Pop as pallbearers will be Frank Wilson, Mikhael Wietzel, Jr., Kenny Crawford, Benji White, Codey White and Dale Lee. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Matt Herrington, Bobby Johnson, Gerald Fletcher, Butch Daspit and Rogue22-MC.
