Walter Leon Johnson

Graveside services for Walter "Cajun" Leon Johnson, 81, will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Heights Cemetery, 125 Bedsole Lane, Mansfield, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Brother Toby Shaw. Walter was born on September 26, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Narvis Johnson and Lesper Ates Johnson and passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Walter was a resident of Shreveport and spent his working years as an truck driver. He had a real passion for driving his 18-wheeler and was happiest traveling down the road with the exception of being with his family whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed fishing when time permitted. Walter is preceded in death by her parents; his loving wife of 25 years, Glenda Johnson; and son, Raylon Clark. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Charles Johnson and wife, Courtnie, David Johnson, Denise Johnson, Shannon Smith and Hal Earle, Sharron Lawrence, and Robbie Clark and wife, Betty; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to the VA Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to Walter during his illness.
