Wanda Louise Watkins
Wanda Woods Watkins passed away on December 14, 2017. She was the youngest child born to Irvin and Iva Woods of Marshall, TX on February 25, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of fifty years, Richard Watkins, Sr. Wanda and Richard shared those years together in the Shreveport area where they raised their only child. Wanda enjoyed a simple lifestyle that revolved around being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and finally great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Rick Watkins and wife Terry of Greenwood; granddaughters, Shelby Musick and husband Brandon of Shreveport and Taylor Watkins and fiancé Justin Kennedy of Greenwood; great-grandsons, Charlie and Jaxson; brothers, Howard, Huey, and Jimmy Woods; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Monday, December 18, 2017 at 5 p.m. with Brother Craig Kennedy officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Wanda will be buried with Richard at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Springridge, LA.
Wanda and family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor Stratmore, Caddo Parish Fire District Three, Life Air Rescue, and the Shreveport firefighters that showed her so much love.
